Our community is thriving and the Community Association’s aims and objectives are to provide additional benefit and enhancement for everyone to enjoy.
The aims of Diggle Community Association are
- To act as a focal point for activities in Diggle village.
- To ensure good communication in the community on all matters affecting it.
- To ensure members of the community have opportunities to participate and have a voice in community affairs in a non-political and non-sectarian manner.
- To support and assist individual members or groups in the community as determined by the Executive Committee.
DCA membership is open to all Diggle residents and anyone who works in the village.
The DCA officers for 2012 are:
Chair: Stuart Coleman
Professional photographer and also editor of on-line community news site Diggle News. Stuart’s background is education and community work.
Vice Chair: Ray Withnall
Local business man who has enjoyed successful careers as an IT Project Manager and accountant.
Executive Secretary: Julie Johnson
Retired secretary and bookkeeper. Previously a member of the successful and acclaimed Diggle 21st Action Group, which raised funds for the regeneration of the Diggle Tunnel Tip.
Treasurer and Membership Secretary: Brenda Scowcroft
Teaching assistant at Diggle Primary School and also a previous member of the Diggle 21st Action Group.
Executive Committee Members:
Reverend Duncan Rhodes Local vicar and a committee member on many of Diggle’s organisations.
Jo Taylor Member of the Diggle PTA and actively raises public awareness to breast cancer.
