Frank Settle will attend the meeting.  It would be helpful if Ex. Members could look at the site before the meeting and be ready with any construction observations about how it could be improved.  I have still to look at the Whit walks.  Any other omissions.  I have confined it to Diggle activities rather than Saddleworth.  Do we want anything on the website about Diggle 21Brenda?

BS

Any involvement for the Association Brenda?  I was approached by Julie Johnson earlier this week wanting to know about Litter and Dog Fouling bins.

Highways

NS; DR;AJ; RGF

After a promising start we are getting nowhere with the highways.  Apart from 30 M.P.H. sign at the top of Spurn Lane, the encouraging sounds arising from the initial meeting with Peter Noblet have not materialised.  I sent in a list of overgrowing vegetation in late August by e mail and none has been done despite several reminders.  The sign at the end of Ward Lane – turned 180 degrees has not be changed neither has the School sign – in the field be re-placed.
Where do we go from here?

Environment

RGF

The P.T.A. at the school did an excellent job in collecting loads of litter in September.  Would a letter to the P.T.A. Chair be appropriate Nigel?  What are members’ views about eh general cleanliness of the village.  I asked for the weekly Huddersfield Road sweep to be done after 9 a.m. but has it?

Security

BC; AR; BS

Brian you were attempting to get hold of the Youth Service when the members met in Sept.  have you managed it?  Do you want me to help?  There is a possibility of getting a Ring and Ride bus to take youths to the Satellite Club if that is one way forward. Do we want to try this?
We should have conducted through the youth Service a survey of needs by now.  Are we o.k. with the Police?

Post Office – Notice Board

BS; RGF

Within the next few days I shall be completing an Application Form for funds for this from the Community Council.  We shall need an estimate no later than the date of our meeting Phil on 13.11.07.  Are you able to get this please? Because we are going through this route we shall unfortunately have to apply for planning permission.  That is a burdensome formality which will cost but be an integral part of the application.

Decision about involvement in Planning Applications-

All

Those in which we should have a view and those in which we should not.  Discussion needed. c.f. Shaw’s, Hanging Gate and observations about any others.  I get a list every week.

Annual General meeting

ALL

1. Chair’s report.  In progress to include any observations from Executive about our progress to date. 2.  Re-placement of the Membership Secretary – anybody want the job?  Not too arduous!  If not how do we go about this and the election of Officers at the A.G.M.? 3.  21 days notice needed for members method of notification to be determined.
4. Collection of ANNUAL subscriptions – how? 5. Slight amendment needed to Constitution to embrace child protection issues (to be completed next week)

Any other business
