The re-generation of Shaw's pallet factory, on the Huddersfield Road, will have a profound impact on Diggle Community for many years to come. The DCA Executive, and members, have discussed the priorities, for the re-generation of Shaws, and wish to be pro-active and positive with the future owner and developer, so that, in a positive manner, we can influence what is built. |
|
| |
Priority 1 - Vital |
|
| |
- Station/Community Hall (also indoor sports centre)/Visitor Centre - if these are combined,
there is a better chance of getting this through.
- New buildings to be in Stone/Slate - in keeping with the surrounding buildings and area.
- Sports facilities (Field/Hall) - this includes a football pitch.
- Medical and Care Facilities.
|
|
| |
Priority 2 - Very Important |
|
| |
- Recreation Park (for children)
- Tree Screening (to improve the overall site)
- Affordable Housing (for local people)
|
|
| |
Consequential (these matters must be considered, whatever happens to the site) |
|
| |
- Access Road to the site - new road system at the Uppermill end of Huddersfield Road.
- Size of Diggle School - both the nursery and primary schools.
